Introduction

Eleven days and counting until I leave for Wyoming for the summer! This is getting more and more real every day. I'll admit part of me is kind of sad to be leaving San Antonio, the city I adore so much and has always been my home. When I think of saying goodbye to all of my family and friends that are here, I have to remind myself that this move is temporary, and I'll be back in October. At the same time, though, I'm super excited to soon be living and working in what many people have told me is the most beautiful place in the US, Grand Teton National Park. Sitting on my bed writing this, looking over at the new pairs of shoes, warm clothes, hiking backpack, swimsuits, and other supplies I've recently gotten for this trip, I still can hardly believe how lucky I am to have this amazing opportunity.
I recently got a newsletter from the company I'll be working for (Grand Teton Lodge Company) which included a "bucket list" of activities that we can't miss while in the park. One of the top things on the list was cliff jumping! Now, call me crazy, but that's something I'm not missing out on. I've already been bungee jumping; how much crazier could cliff jumping be? Even better, though, and perfect especially for me, is the fact that this is one of the best parks for wildlife viewing. It’s one of the only areas in the country that has healthy populations of black bears, grizzly bears, and gray wolves, not to mention moose, bison, bald eagles, and many more. Sounds like my version of heaven.
Guess I’ll end this first post here. Eleven days!! Is this really my life?! ;)
